In one of the latest patches they inculded Mod.IO support directly from ingame. there are also like 6 remakes of swat 4 maps

Meaning makes it easier to use mods right ?

Yes really easy, you can login from ingame to mod.io with a dedicated account or trough steam authentication.
after that you can just download every mod you like and it asks to reboot the game when done.
as far as i saw it will keep them up to date aswell.
